The most frequent request is for 6 days.
I tried to include as many interesting things as possible. In some places, there are sections with many serpentines. If your skills are not confidently average or you want less driving, write, and I will trim the route.
This route is a dynamic blend of coastal roads, alpine passes, and hidden gems — perfect for riders seeking both natural beauty and cultural depth.
1st day (Click the link to open in google.maps)
Begin at the iconic islet of Sveti Stefan, then cruise south along the Adriatic through Bar and Ulcinj. Turn inland to explore the wetlands of Skadar Lake National Park, wind through Rijeka Crnojevića, and finish the day in Podgorica, Montenegro’s capital.
2nd day (clickable)
Ride the stunning SH20 panoramic road near the Albanian border, then climb into the rugged peaks of Prokletije National Park. Descend into the dramatic Morača Canyon and settle in the mountain town of Kolašin.
3rd day
Cross the Đurđevića Tara Bridge and follow the edge of the Tara River Canyon — though note that the P4 road is under reconstruction, so an alternate route is needed. Continue into Durmitor National Park, passing Nedajno, the Mratinje Dam, and the turquoise waters of Piva Lake.
Unfortunately, the road P4 (Tara River Canyon) is still under reconstruction. Have to use another road. Also, check recommendations about the Durmitor part here
4th day
Ride through the remote Komarnica Canyon and re-enter Durmitor via Trsa and the breathtaking Sedlo Pass. Stop at Prtaš viewpoint, then descend through Šavnik toward Kapetanovo Lake. Be aware: Google Maps may mislead you near the lake — follow local signs and the visible road around the stone wall. Overnight in Nikšić.
5th day
Visit the cliffside Ostrog Monastery, then cross into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ride past the serene Bileća Lake and stop at the Kravica Waterfalls before reaching the historic city of Mostar.
6th day
Explore Stolac and the Tvrdoš Monastery, then return to the Montenegrin coast via Herceg Novi, Risan, and Perast. Ride the Kotor Serpentine for one last adrenaline rush before ending in Cetinje.
If you have an extra day or two, I would highly recommend travelling to Sarajevo and spending a day there relaxing and exploring the city. Write to me and I will add you to the itinerary.
