    Open 24/7. The closest border crossing to the sea with Croatia. This small checkpoint is mainly designed for local traffic, which often results in shorter queues.
  2. (HR) Karasovići – (MNE) Debeli Brijeg
    Open 24/7. The main border crossing between Croatia and Montenegro. During the peak tourist season, long queues are common, but motorcyclists can bypass them if they remain respectful and avoid cutting in large groups.

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

  1. (BIH) Zupci – (MNE) Sitnica
    Open 24/7. The closest crossing to Herceg Novi. Traffic varies, and the descent from the checkpoint offers stunning views of the Bay of Kotor.

    Open 24/7. The most scenic neutral zone in this region. It offers magnificent views, including a dam on the Bosnian side.

    Open 24/7. This border crossing is convenient as there is no neutral zone; border officials exchange your documents directly, minimizing the need to handle them between checkpoints.

  4. (BIH) Hum – (MNE) Šćepan Polje
    Open 24/7. A very scenic border crossing with a neutral zone that includes a bridge over the Tara River canyon. This is also the starting point of one of Durmitor’s most beautiful routes. To access it, cross the border, turn around, and re-enter through the barrier, which the border guard will open remotely.

  5. (BIH) Metaljka – (MNE) Metaljka
    Open 24/7. The most picturesque border crossing in the north. The road passes through a beautiful mountain serpentine in a pine forest. Traffic is light, and the neutral zone features abandoned settlements with remnants of traditional local life. Border officials are friendly and courteous.
  6. (BIH) Krstac – (MNE) Krstac
    A very small and unburdened transition. The road has a nice part near the crossing, but then monotonous and slow crossings on the Montenegro side.

SERBIA

  1. (SRB) Čemerno – (MNE) Čemerno

    Open 24/7. The road runs through a stunning canyon along the river. It is one of the main crossings with Serbia.

    Open for car traffic. Waiting times vary: on weekdays, it takes up to 30 minutes, while weekends and holidays can take up to 3 hours.
  5. (SRB) Špiljani – (MNE) Dračenovac
    The easternmost border crossing between Montenegro and Serbia. The closest Montenegrin town is Rožaje, and on the Serbian side, it is Tutin. Customs clearance usually takes up to 30 minutes, increasing to 3 hours on weekends. The road is scenic, passing through beautiful mountain slopes.

KOSOVO

ALBANIA

  1. (AL) Baškim – (MNE) Grnčar
    Open 24/7. The SH20 road on the Albanian side is considered one of the most scenic routes.
  2. (AL) Grabom – (MNE) Cijevna Zatrijebačka
    Open 24/7. The Montenegrin side leads through a picturesque gorge, while the Albanian side features the SH20 road. This crossing is usually not crowded and is one of the most scenic on the border.
  3. (AL) Hani Hotit – (MNE) Božaj
    Open 24/7. One of the main crossings between Albania and Montenegro. Waiting times range from 5 minutes to 2 hours. Motorcyclists are often allowed to bypass the queue. The road runs along the shore of Lake Skadar, but scenic viewpoints are limited.
